At the Grass Concerts to be organized by the Balçova Municipality for the first time this year, the people of İzmir will be filled with music. Pop, Rock, Jazz, Turkish Classical Music and Turkish Folk Music artists will take the stage at the concerts to be held on Friday and Saturday nights every week for a month.

The people of Izmir, who are longing for music due to the coronavirus restrictions that have been going on for more than a year, will be satisfied with the music with the Grass Concerts to be organized by the Balçova Municipality. The concerts, the first of which will be held on Friday, July 9, will meet with music lovers every Friday and Saturday for a month at Balçova Justice and Democracy Park next to İzmir University of Economics. There will also be a night market and book stand of Semtevleri in the concert area.

There are all kinds of music

There will be two different concerts in one style every week at Balçova Çim concerts. Sinan Efe Aksoy and Ersin Barlas will perform separately in Pop Week, Cansu Nihat Akarsu and Gizem Okudan in Jazz Week, Fasl-ı Nazenin and Ercan-Gökhan Çağıran in Turkish Classical Music and Turkish Folk Music week, and Narkoz and Cassette Bands in Rock Concerts week. Karaoke competitions and DJ events will be held before the concerts.

Çalkaya “Citizen is very bored”

Balçova Mayor Fatma Çalkaya, who stated that they miss social activities and also want to support artists dealing with music, said, “Our young people, who cannot go on holiday especially in summer, are very overwhelmed. We decided to hold these concerts for all our citizens who feel young, especially for them. Before the concert, we will have various music competitions, our district houses near the concert venue, and the night market of our Women's Cooperative, as well as a book stand for book lovers.”
