Continuing his work with the vision of equal opportunity in sports, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer swam with the children in Bornova Meriç Mahallesi, one of the three portable pools put into service in the “back quarters”. President Tunç Soyer said, “We have many children who do not know the pool, live in İzmir but have not seen the sea. We will bring them together with swimming, the pool and the sea," he said.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to teach swimming to children with three portable pools established in “back quarters” to encourage water sports in line with Mayor Tunç Soyer's vision of equal opportunity in sports. Children will receive swimming training for two months in the portable pools in Konak Altınordu District, Gaziemir Emrez District and Bornova Meriç District. President Tunç Soyer also visited the children in the portable pool established in Bornova Meriç Mahallesi. Soyer, who entered the pool with the children, accompanied the warm-up exercises before the training.
2 thousand of our children will learn to swim in 3 months
Stating that they will continue to work for children who do not know how to swim, the sea and the pool, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “It is very nice, it is very enjoyable to bring them together with swimming in this heat of İzmir, I am very pleased. I am happy to accompany them. We have many children who do not know the pool, live in Izmir but have not seen the sea. We will bring them together with swimming, pool and sea. In 2 months, 3 of our children will learn to swim. We start from the age of 6. Our children receive swimming training in our pools every hour of the day.”
