Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality rehabilitated the 1500-meter sewer line of Uzungöl with the CIPP system, which was applied for the first time in the city. By placing nets at the points where the culverts meet the lake, the formation of sediment on the lake surface was prevented.
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality TİSKİ General Directorate has completed the comprehensive sewerage and stormwater separation works that it started in Uzungöl, one of the most important tourism centers of the country. TİSKİ General Directorate, which took action after it was determined that leaks and underground waters were mixed with the sewer line at some points, implemented the CIPP system, which was applied for the first time in Trabzon, in order to make the lake healthier.
COVERED WITHOUT EXCAVATION
TİSKİ General Directorate prevented solid wastes leaking into the lake by applying the CIPP system, which is the technique of creating a single piece of pipe inside the main pipe without excavation, in the pipelines that have been excessively deformed and that have lost their tightness in Uzungöl. In addition, the teams, who determined that a lot of domestic waste and sediment were mixed into Uzungöl from the streams in the region, placed special nets at the points where the culverts meet the lake, preventing these wastes from mixing into the lake.
INFRASTRUCTURE COMPLETELY RENOVATED
Stating that they have renewed the infrastructure of Uzungöl, one of the most important tourism destinations of the city and the country, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu said, “We have cut off the underground spring waters that will enter the sewer line from the outside or the sewage water leaking from the inside to the outside, thanks to the system called CIPP. On the other hand, we prevented the formation of sediment in the lake with the special nets we placed in the mouths of the culverts. We brought our Uzungöl together with a healthier infrastructure than before.”
