A new step was taken for the technological integration of Kocaeli and İzmir. The Presidential Decision regarding the 180 thousand square meter area in İzmir to be an additional area of Informatics Valley's “İzmir Technology Base” was published in the Official Gazette. Informatics Valley General Manager Serdar İbrahimcioğlu stated that the technology corridor to be formed between Kocaeli and İzmir will increase global competition in technology with the experience, knowledge and experience of Bilişim Vadisi.
“WE BRING IZMIR AND KOCAELİ”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held the official opening of Informatics Valley in 2019. Speaking at the ceremony, President Erdoğan stated that they will include the new technology development zone to be established next to İzmir Institute of Technology under the roof of Bilişim Vadisi, "Here is the Osmangazi Bridge. Now you can reach Izmir in 2,5 hours. In this way, we are bringing Kocaeli and İzmir together in terms of technology. We are in pursuit of creating an internationally competitive technology base with the knowledge to be gained in these areas.” he said.
APPROXIMATELY 180 THOUSAND SQUARE METERS
The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette. An area of approximately 180 thousand square meters in İzmir was combined with the corporate structure of Informatics Valley and was determined as the "İzmir Technology Base" additional area.

In his statement on the subject, Informatics Valley General Manager Serdar İbrahimcioğlu stated that Informatics Valley is Turkey's largest technology development region, and that the technology corridor that will be formed between Kocaeli and Izmir with this decision will increase global competition in technology with the experience, knowledge and experience of Informatics Valley.
Noting that the developing ecosystem of Informatics Valley has started to make a significant contribution to the digitalization of the industry and the development of the software industry with its universities, institutes and the infrastructures to be established, General Manager İbrahimcioğlu said, “This contribution is also integrating with the Informatics Valley İzmir Technology Base, getting stronger and growing. Thus, we are establishing a wallless Technopark with a decentralized R&D approach.” said.
TO CARRY THE COOPERATION NETWORK TO IZMIR
Informatics Valley will carry the national and international cooperation network it has developed to Izmir with the Izmir Technology Base. İzmir Technology Base will host national and international companies with the high and useful technology it will produce. Entrepreneurs will be supported with the R&D and incubation center to be established here. Informatics Valley, which focuses on civil technologies, will thus contribute to employment and production in İzmir.
