Muratpaşa Municipality organized a Nature-Based Development Workshop with Antalya Forest School and Therapy Development Institute, which made children put aside their tablets and mobile phones and introduce them to nature. In the workshop organized under the leadership of Clinical Psychologist and Antalya Forest School and Therapy Development Institute founder Selin Aktürk and her team, the little ones played educational games under the shade of lush trees in Zeytinpark and explored nature with baskets in their hands.
“We thought that children were far from where they should be in nature. For this reason, we entered into a cooperation with Muratpaşa Municipality. The activities we do with children include developing fine motor and gross motor skills, taking risks, doing risk analysis, feeling emotions, getting to know nature, yoga and meditation. And we carry out these together with developmental psychologists, psychological counselors, clinical psychologists and preschool teachers. I hope this will be a step forward and we can spread further and reach more children.”
