Bebka brought together women's cooperatives in Eskişehir

At the event, the topics needed to improve the capacities of women's cooperatives, especially those operating economically in rural areas, and alternative studies for the products produced by cooperatives were discussed. Eskişehir Deputy Governor Dr. attended the meeting held at ETO. Hasan Çiçek, ETO President Metin Güler, Anadolu University Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Semra Günay, TOBB Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board President Elif Gürkaynak, BEBKA Eskişehir Investment Support Office Coordinator Dr. Güliz Ünal and many representatives of women's cooperatives and relevant institutions attended.

In the opening speeches, BEBKA Eskişehir Investment Support Office Coordinator Dr. Güliz Ünal; “As BEBKA, we have been carrying out important work on rural development, one of the main elements of regional development, since the day we were founded. To date, we have provided grant support of approximately 35 million TL for 2024 projects for rural development in our province, with figures for 112. Every year, a common theme is determined for development agencies by our Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the theme for 2024 is women's employment/women's entrepreneurship. In this context, we prioritize our theme in our work and support programs in our region. “With this event, we are together for our women's cooperatives to share experience and knowledge, to reveal the problems and to evaluate solution suggestions.” said.

Speaking at the meeting, Eskişehir Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board President Elif Gürkaynak stated that, as a board, they are making efforts to grow and increase the number of women's cooperatives, and stated that, thanks to the project writing they pioneered in this context, approximately 3 million liras of support was provided to four cooperatives in Eskişehir in today's figures. Gürkaynak underlined that they will continue to work to strengthen women's cooperatives.

Speaking at the meeting, ETO President Metin Güler stated that the development of a country can be achieved by involving the entire workforce in that country in working life, and drew attention to the importance of increasing the number of women in production and employment. Stating that they will continue to support women entrepreneurs as ETO, Güler thanked the institutions that had a share in the organization of the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Eskişehir Deputy Governor Dr. Hasan Çiçek stated that women's greater inclusion in the economic system contributes greatly to the development of countries, and stated that the number of women's cooperatives and women's employment have increased in Turkey in recent years. Deputy Governor Dr. also pointed out the importance of institutionalization and branding of women's cooperatives. Hasan Çiçek emphasized that marketing and sales have an important place as much as production in cooperatives.

Following the speeches, Anadolu University Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. An experience sharing panel was held under the moderation of Semra Günay. In the panel, Nurcan Yılmaz, President of Oylat Strait Women's Agricultural Development Cooperative from Bursa, Nergis Döner, President of Bursa Lotus Women's Enterprise Production and Business Cooperative, and Ebru Yüksel, Yıldırım Municipality Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship officer, shared their experiences and opinions on the establishment and sustainability of women's cooperatives.
