Bursa Grows Stronger with Sports

Speaking at the meeting, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they were very happy to host the Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak in Bursa and Mudanya, which loves sports very much. Stating that Bursa is a sports city as well as a city of industry, tourism and agriculture, Mayor Aktaş said, “All our athletes, especially Poyrazın Kızları, are our pride. I would like to thank the parents, coaches and managers who worked hard for them. This story started 3 years ago. Our 25th branch within Büyükşehir Belediyespor was handball. Belediyespor President Gökhan Dinçer said, 'Let's take care of the athletes, the rest is up to them.' They did not let us down. They became champions in their first year. I would like to thank our girls and their teachers. We opened a family support center in Mudanya. We also built a youth center with a fitness center, a dietician and a psychologist, where BUSMEK courses are given, a baby carrier, and sales departments. We will do much more. "I would like to thank our athletes who made us proud," he said.

“We will work for the sports center”

Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak thanked Bursa Metropolitan Belediyespor, which attaches importance to athletes, and the coaches, and congratulated Poyrazın Kızları for their success. Stating that the picture he saw in Bursa shows that the future of Turkish sports is very bright, Minister Bak said, “We see the works of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in every corner of Bursa. We pay close attention to the requests submitted to us. The need for a gym and stadium was expressed. We will also work for a modern sports complex, that is, an athlete center, in Mudanya. Get the plans, come and find the place. We are behind you. We will bring a work worthy of Mudanya to the district. Sports revolutions continue in Turkey. We have organized many world championships in our country. I thank all families. The view we see here gives us hope. Our most important duty is to fight addiction. "We welcome our children to do sports in our facilities," he said.

Bursa Deputy Mustafa Varank said that he was very happy to come together with young people who are devoted to sports. Stating that Mudanya is a district that stands out with the athletes it trains in different branches, Varank said, “Mudanya's north wind blows hard. But such a success story was written with this harsh north wind that we shook Turkey with the Poyraz's Daughters. In my opinion, Mudanya is a whole with sports. This district deserves the best in terms of sports, investments and services. We urgently need a gym and stadium in Mudanya.

Mudanya District Governor Ayhan Terzi said that sports are very popular in Mudanya and that young people have achieved great success, and stated that the successes will continue to increase with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.

Büyükşehir Belediyespor Club President Gökhan Dinçer stated that Mudanya is an important district in terms of sports. Reminding that Büyükşehir Belediyespor Women's Handball Team became the Turkish champion 10 times in 5 years, Dinçer said that 3 years ago, the current municipality decided to withdraw its support and close it down, and with the intervention of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, the team was taken care of. Stating that they went from the first league to the super league undefeated in their first year, Dinçer stated that they support girls in every age group in the infrastructure. Stating that they want to build a stadium for Mudanyaspor, Dinçer stated that they expect support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

After the speeches, Bursaspor's legend Sedat Özden presented a jersey to Mustafa Varank and Minister Osman Aşkın Bak in memory of the day. Tirilyespor, Mudanyaspor and Burgazspor fans also presented a scarf to Minister Bak in memory of the day. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Büyükşehir Belediyespor Mayor Gökhan Dinçer and Poyrazın Kızları presented Minister Bak with the number 53 Büyükşehir Belediyespor jersey in memory of the day.
