Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality has announced the 2023 report on the Orange Bicycle (TUBİS), which was implemented to facilitate and popularize the use of bicycles. TUBİS, which started operating in June and attracted great interest from the people of Sakarya within a 6-month period, was rented a total of 892 times.
While 83 percent of the renters are men, the average age of the renters is recorded as 37. 1 percent of the citizens who used TUBİS, which can be rented for 3 month, 6 months and 80 months, rented for 6 months. 12 percent of the rental was for 3 months.
CITIZEN'S CHOICE: CITY BIKE
In TUBİSs, which were rented in two different concepts: city and folding bicycles, the "city bicycle" concept was preferred by 2 percent of the citizens. Among the 75 districts, the district with the most rentals was Akyazı with 16 rentals. Akyazı was followed by Adapazarı with 346 rentals.
Rentals continue online every day at sakarya.bel.tr and open every morning at 09.00. Citizens who rent can get their TUBİS from Sunflower Bicycle Valley during working hours. The Metropolitan Municipality provides a lock set free of charge for every rental. In addition, citizens who wish can rent helmets and child seats at very low prices. All maintenance and repair operations such as tire bursts and chain breaks after rental are carried out free of charge by the Metropolitan Municipality.
