Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Yüce stated that they continue their loss and leakage prevention efforts throughout the city in order to protect Sakarya's drinking water resources and prevent even a drop of water from being wasted.
Mayor Yüce, who introduced the city to projects that will protect Sakarya's water resources and increase its efficiency, said, “It is the common duty of all humanity to protect water resources due to climate change and inefficient rainfall in the world. We are working with all our strength to fulfill this responsibility in the best way possible and to prevent even a drop of our city's water from being wasted. The importance of water saving was once again understood with the statements of Emine Erdoğan, wife of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at the 'Water Efficiency Mobilization' introductory meeting. "It is foreseen that water is not an unlimited resource and that there may be changes in people's living spaces as a result of water losses in the coming years," he said.
Mayor Yüce said, “As Sakarya, we continue our acoustic listening, fault detection and immediate response activities throughout the city in order to fulfill our duty in water saving and water efficiency. By immediately repairing the leaks we detected in Karaman District recently, we saved water equivalent to the water use of 6 thousand 630 people a year. We aim to minimize the water loss rate of our city with our projects that we carry out with the principle of zero loss. We have no doubt that all our citizens will play an active role in the Water Efficiency Mobilization. "We can start protecting our world's water resources by saving the water we use in our homes," he said.
