BTSO Members Attended the Global Patidar Business Summit and Fair in India

BTSO continues its efforts to enable its members to expand into new markets. India, which is among the "Target Countries" determined by the Ministry of Commerce for exports in 2024, has become the new stop of BTSO members in the Asian market. A BTSO delegation of approximately 60 people, including companies operating in the construction and building materials, furniture, automotive, agriculture and food and tourism sectors, attended the Global Patidar Business Summit and Fair held in Rajkot, Gujarat, India.

Companies aiming to take advantage of the opportunities in India, the country with the world's largest population and seventh largest geographical area, attracted great attention at the event.

Commenting on the event, BTSO Board Member Alparslan Şenocak said that India is among the largest and fastest growing economies in the world.

Pointing out that India holds important opportunities for the Turkish business world, Şenocak emphasized that these opportunities should be thoroughly explored. Noting that they attended the Global Patidar Business Summit and Fair held in the Gujarat state of India with a large delegation in this context, Şenocak made the following evaluation: “Our members had the opportunity to hold bilateral business meetings with many companies within the scope of the fair. We saw that Indian companies have an extremely high appetite for doing business with Türkiye. "It was a useful program, especially in terms of developing new collaborations in the construction and building materials sector."

“THEY AIM TO OPEN UP TO THE EUROPEAN MARKET BY COOPERATING WITH TURKEY”

Sharing that they also visited the industrial zones and manufacturers in the region in addition to the fair visit, Şenocak said, “The city of Rajkot stands out especially with its ceramic production. Although the producers here trade extensively with Asia, Africa and the Middle East, they are not active in the EU market. They consider our country as a gateway to Europe. They are very willing to cooperate with our companies in this regard. Rajkot is also a new development district in India. Luxury buildings and residences are being built. “I believe that the potential for cooperation between Türkiye and India is quite high.” said.

While 1.000 companies from different sectors opened stands at the Global Patidar Business Summit and Fair, 30 business professionals from 1.100 countries as well as Turkey attended the fair. Approximately 1 million people visited the four-day event.
