Butexcomp Introduced in Ankara and Istanbul

Composite Material and Technical Textile Prototype Production and Application Center Project (BUTEXCOMP), supported by the European Union within the framework of the 'Competitive Sectors Program' of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) under the umbrella of BUTEKOM, continues its activities.

Within the scope of the project, 'Composite Material and Technical Textile Cluster Promotion and Inter-Cluster Cooperation Development Event' was held in Ankara and Istanbul, following Bursa. At the event, sectoral trends, R&D and innovation opportunities, work areas and cooperation issues were discussed together with national and international stakeholders.

BUTEXCOMP Project Operation Coordination Unit Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan said, “We started our activities by implementing the high-tech machinery park in BUTEKOM, where design, modeling and prototype production, testing and analysis services are offered, which is our most important goal in the project. At the same time, work has been completed to create a fully integrated innovation cluster in the composite material and technical textile sectors. We have made great progress with BUTEXCOMP and have reached approximately 90 percent of our targeted outputs.” made the statement.

“OUR BUSINESSES HAVE TO BE INNOVATIVE AND EFFICIENT”

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan said, “The rapidly increasing competitive environment and developing technology, as well as the changing rules of global trade, force our businesses to be more innovative and more efficient. There has been an obligation to continue not only with collaborations between companies but also with collaborations between clusters. For this reason, we continue our activities to position our project as a platform that will enable collaborations at national and international levels.” he said.

“IT WILL MAKE A GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SECTORS”

Sectoral stakeholders showed great interest in the workshops organized separately in Ankara and Istanbul for the 'Composite Materials and Technical Textile Innovation Cluster' event established within BUTEKOM and BUTEXCOMP. Evaluating the event, Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Center (BUTEKOM) General Manager Murat Kurtlar said, “As an effective and competitive organization, our aim is to develop sustainable growth, value-added production and social responsibility activities. In this regard, we continue our work to facilitate the business processes of the companies in the sectors we serve, to improve their product quality, to increase their international competitive competencies, to support their transition to green transformation and innovation-based production processes, and to guide our sectors in their digital transformation journeys. “The production center we established within the scope of BUTEXCOMP is an important investment that will make great contributions to both our companies and our country's economy.” he said.

BUTEXCOMP officials gave detailed information about the project at events held in Istanbul and Ankara. The events also included Walter Lutz, Secretary General of the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing in Belgium, and Judith Bosch, Project Manager, as well as the Reinforced Plastics Federation Platform operating in Germany. Sectoral trends, work areas and collaboration opportunities were also evaluated via video conference with Volker Mathes, Business Development Manager of the Federation of Reinforced Plastics.
