48 Million TL for Environmental Massacre in Bursa!

The Metropolitan Municipality, which focuses on environmental investments to make Bursa a healthier and more livable city and brings large-scale new green areas to the city as well as water, sewerage, rainwater lines and stream improvement works, is also fighting intensively against elements that pollute nature.

In order to prevent illegal dumping of excavations, especially on stream banks and fertile agricultural areas, 14 excavation storage areas were created throughout the province by the Metropolitan Municipality. While those who brought excavation waste to controlled dumping sites were charged a fee of 2023 TL per ton in 30,00, those who caused environmental massacre by illegal dumping in order to avoid paying such a small amount of money were digitally monitored both by air and land. With the decision of UKOME, it is obligatory for vehicles carrying excavation to be equipped with a GPS device that is compatible with the satellite vehicle tracking system and sensitive to dumper movements. To date, 1600 trucks have been tracked with GPS. In order to prevent illegal dumping, an effective fight was continued in 2023 with the 'Excavation Management Information System' developed by the Metropolitan Municipality, which included the contractors who will carry out the construction, the companies that will carry the excavation, the district municipalities and Burkent A.Ş., which operates the excavation sites. . A total of 113 million 47 thousand 862 TL administrative fines were imposed on 333 individuals and companies who were found to have illegally dumped excavation during both satellite tracking and field inspections throughout the year.

ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITY

While the penalty amounts determined according to the Environmental Law were updated as 2024 thousand 433 TL for individuals and 018 million 1 thousand 299 TL for companies engaged in illegal casting as of 54, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş emphasized that everyone should do their part for a healthier environment. Stating that every individual has responsibilities for a greener, more livable Bursa, Mayor Aktaş said, “As citizens, as industrialists, as every individual living in this city, we all have responsibilities in this regard. We carry out air and land inspections in cooperation with the Gendarmerie. At this point, I would like to remind you that while it is possible to handle this job for very small costs so that no one will be victimized, the environment is harmed and there are very heavy penal sanctions just for the sake of 'let me do it for free'. Despite all our warnings, we had to impose an administrative fine of nearly 2023 million TL in 48. While it is possible to get this job done with small costs, paying very high fines has serious problems both humanly and financially. The city will be created by all of us, the greenery, beauty and livability of the city will be created by the joint work of all of us. "On this occasion, I invite all our citizens to be more careful," he said.
