According to Shanghai Customs, as of Saturday, freight trains carried more than 3,38 TEUs (476 TEU refers to a 91.400-foot container) worth a total of 10.000 billion yuan (1 million US dollars) and weighing 20 tons.

The latest China-Europe freight train, which departed from Shanghai on Friday, carried a total of 50 containers of cargo such as solar tracking components. The train will proceed from Khorgos Port in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwestern China and will go to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The first China-Europe freight train in Shanghai entered service in September 2021. The train service, which connects Shanghai to more than 80 overseas cities and stations, stands out as a valuable logistics channel to connect Shanghai to Eurasia and gives new impetus to the joint construction of the Generation and Road Initiative.
