Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said, “Continue education everywhere and under any condition.” Emphasizing that they act with their motto, he said that they will allocate the “Black Sea Lifeship Rauf Bey” ship with a capacity of 2 thousand people to Iskenderun to the earthquake victims who are preparing for LGS and YKS.
Minister Özer attended the classes of kindergarten students with the hairdressing course at Süheyla Sultan Ship Training Center, which was sent by Karadeniz Holding under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to the Iskenderun district of Hatay, which was affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
Maximum cooperation with ministries and institutions
Making statements after the visit, Minister Özer stated that they have been trying to bring children together with education in tents, containers and prefabricated schools with the motto "continue education everywhere and under any condition" since the first day of the earthquake. Minister Özer explained that before starting education in the provinces affected by the earthquakes, all opportunities were mobilized in order to bring children together with their teachers to overcome the trauma and to strengthen their psychological resilience.
Noting that there is a maximum level of cooperation with ministries and institutions, Özer said, “We opened Mehmetçik schools in ten provinces in an organized manner with our Ministry of National Defense. We visited the training campus in the NATO tent city, where 2 students and teachers can stay and prepare for LGS and YKS. Again, our Ministry of National Defense gives every kind of support and contribution to our students to meet education with Mehmetçik schools in nearly 400 tents in ten provinces. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Minister of National Defense.” he said.

Pointing out that they had seen the classes where all kinds of training support were provided on the Süheyla Sultan ship, Özer said that the 2-person capacity Black Sea Lifeship Rauf Bey was on its way to the Iskenderun Port.
Providing information about the training program to be conducted on the ship allocated for earthquake victims, Minister Mahmut Özer said, “We will allocate the ship only to students who will enter LGS and YKS. As the Ministry, we will provide all kinds of teacher and logistic support. We will meet all the needs of our students who are preparing for the exam in this region with this ship. As the Ministry of National Education, we will prepare our students for the exams on a ship at sea for the first time.” said.
