Former Hilton Hotel in Izmir Opened to Earthquake Victims

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which opened the old Hilton Hotel to solve the temporary accommodation problem of the earthquake victims who came to Izmir, rearranged 180 rooms. Currently, 50 people are hosted in 102 rooms.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to host earthquake survivors who came to Izmir after the 11 February earthquake that destroyed 6 cities. In order to solve the temporary accommodation problem of earthquake victims, the doors of the building formerly used by the Hilton Hotel, of which Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is a shareholder, were opened to the earthquake victims. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality made 180 rooms ready for the use of earthquake victims. 50 people started to be hosted in 102 rooms.

Kindergarten and library

After the negotiations with Ata Holding, the shareholder of the building, and the completion of the preparation process, the needs of the earthquake victims who entered the hotel as of March 10, 2023, such as three meals of hot food, internet and laundry, are met by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, and psycho-social support is also provided. In order to provide students with the opportunity to study, one of the rooms is converted into a library and the other into a nursery where the little ones can learn while having fun.

On the other hand, İZELMAN A.Ş. A total of 200 people were accommodated in the Buca Social Facilities, which were opened for the use of earthquake victims, and 141 people were accommodated in the Örnekköy Zübeyde Hanım Social Facilities. Currently, 162 people remain in the facilities.
