“The United Kingdom-Turkey Railway Business Network Establishment Event” was held in order to improve railway cooperation between Turkey and England. Officials from the Presidency Investment Office, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) attended the meeting organized by the British Embassy. At the meeting, a consensus was reached on the development of railway sectors between the two countries.

In the "United Kingdom-Turkey Railway Business Network Establishment Event", railway cooperation between Turkey and England was discussed. At the meeting, Serdar Ünsal, Deputy Director General of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, in his presentation drawing attention to the increase in investments in railways in recent years; He gave information about the projects they carried out and planned to be carried out on railways, ports, airports and urban transportation projects.

Burak Aykan, General Manager of European Union and Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries by expressing that the railway route starting from China and extending to London passes through Turkey.

İsmail Murtazaoğlu, Deputy General Manager of TCDD, also gave information about railway projects in his presentation. Murtazaoğlu stated that the said event is important in terms of developing cooperation between the railway sectors of the two countries.

Kenan Poleo, British Consul General in Istanbul and Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, underlined that it is meaningful to cooperate again on the railways between the two countries, as was the case when a railway was built for the first time in Anatolia 165 years ago. Poleo stated that they want to show the railway projects in their country to the experts and senior officials of the Turkish railway institutions and that they want to organize a similar meeting in England.
