Transport and Infrastructure Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the Konya-Adana travel time, which is about 6 hours, will decrease to 2 hours and 20 minutes with the completion of the High Speed ​​​​Train Line.

Speaking at the Demiryol-İş Union Consultation Meeting held in a hotel in Abant, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that 78 percent progress has been achieved in the infrastructure works of the Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli-Balıkesir high-speed train line, the construction of which continues successfully.

Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, said, “We have achieved 84% physical progress in infrastructure construction works within the scope of Karaman-Ulukışla High Speed ​​​​Train line works. With the opening of the line, the distance between Konya and Adana, which is about 6 hours, will decrease to 2 hours and 20 minutes. We have also started our work on the Aksaray-Ulukışla-Yenice High Speed ​​​​Train Project with a total length of 192 kilometers. We are working feverishly for the opening of Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep high-speed train line by 2024. Another project on which we emphasize is Gebze-Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge-Istanbul Airport-Halkalı Çatalca High Speed ​​​​Train Project…” he evaluated.

Expressing that the Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Line is another important project, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have achieved 52,4 percent physical progress in infrastructure works. With this project, we will reduce the railway travel time between Ankara and İzmir from 14 hours to 3,5 hours. When finished, we aim to transport approximately 525 million passengers and 13,5 million tons of cargo per year over a distance of 90 kilometers.” said.
