The fourth "Goodness Train", carrying humanitarian aid materials prepared with the support of non-governmental organizations that came together under the coordination of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), set off for Afghanistan with a ceremony from the historical Ankara Train Station.

In line with the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a farewell ceremony was held at the historical Ankara Train Station for the first train of the fourth goodness voyages carrying food, clothing and health supplies within the scope of the "Afghanistan Goodness Train Project" organized with the support of 25 non-governmental organizations that came together under the coordination of AFAD.

“3 tons of aid materials will be delivered to Afghanistan with 1478 trains”

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Interior İsmail Çataklı said that the fourth Goodness Train will continue with three trains and will deliver 1478 tons of aid materials to Afghanistan.

Stating that Afghanistan has been experiencing war, civil turmoil, drought, hunger and misery for a long time, Çataklı said: “Afghanistan is a part of our geography of heart. 3,5 million people are displaced and close to 25 million people in need of basic humanitarian assistance. There are also around 13,5 million children with poor access to basic food.” said.

Reminding that the Turkish nation stood by the oppressed in every period of history, Çataklı continued: “While doing this, he did not look at his religion and sect. He didn't look at the color of her eyes, hair, or skin. He didn't care what region he was in. We inherited this understanding from our ancestors. Today, we maintain that understanding and I hope we will pass on this trust to our children.”

“It Will Reach Those In Need In The Month Of Ramadan”

AFAD President Yunus Sezer emphasized that Turkey extends a helping hand to people who have difficulties in countries such as Ukraine, Afghanistan and Lebanon, and said, “Our train services will reach those in need during Ramadan. In this sense, we will bid farewell to a very valuable and valuable aid train.” he said.

“To date, a total of 7 tons of aid materials have been transported with 153 trains, 107 wagons and 2 containers.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Şinasi Kazancıoğlu, Deputy General Manager of TCDD Transportation, said: “As we approach the month of Ramadan, the most fertile and the best month, it is our belief to do good, to help the persecuted, to seek out those in need wherever they are in the world. With this sense of responsibility, I would like to emphasize once again that being a link in the chain of goodness with our trains, which we put 'Goodness' in front of it, is a great source of happiness and honor for us as railwaymen.” said.

Kazancıoğlu also stated that with each new organization organized, both the number of benevolent values ​​and the aid materials they carry have increased, and that while 7 trains have carried 153 wagons and 107 containers and a total of 2 tons of aid materials, 663 trains will deliver 3 tons of aid materials, 68 containers, and that the aid has been sent. He stated that the total number of trains has increased to 1478.
