Inspection Stations Established in IETT Garages

The practice of inspecting the vehicles of IETT, Private Public Buses and transport cooperatives in garages twice a year, just like the legal TÜVTURK inspection, has started. Vehicles are inspected by considering many criteria, vehicles that fail the inspection are withdrawn from the voyage until the defects are corrected.

In order to increase driving and passenger safety in public transportation vehicles, vehicles should be inspected at regular intervals. IETT completed the project to create inspection stations in its garages in order to increase the service quality and minimize vehicle breakdowns. Inspection stations were established in 10 garages affiliated to IETT, namely Anadolu, Şahinkaya, Yunus, Sarıgazi, Kurtköy, Hasanpaşa, Edirnekapı, Kağıthane, Ayazağa and İkitelli, by providing TÜV standard equipment.

Inspection processes are carried out using the Exhaust Emission Device, Heavy Vehicle Brake Tester, Axle Gap Tester, Headlight Adjustment Device and vehicle air pressure control equipment in the created inspection channels. In addition to the above equipment available at TÜVTÜRK inspection stations, the "Preset Adjustment Device" is also used at IETT inspection stations. The inspection process, which is carried out at a high standard and carried out by processing numerical data, is carried out by certified inspection and control teams of IETT with maintenance and repair experience.

At the stations, it is examined whether there are 12 defects in 207 different categories in the "İETT Vehicle Defect Table" during the inspection.

Periodic inspections of Private Public Bus and transportation cooperative vehicles are carried out at the inspection stations, as well as IETT vehicles. Thus, all vehicles serving under IETT are inspected by IETT twice a year, in addition to the legally required TÜVTÜRK inspections once a year. In 2022, 937 ÖHO vehicles have been inspected at IETT Inspection Station so far. In addition, IETT vehicles undergoing periodic maintenance are also taken to inspection stations and inspected after maintenance. In 2022, 1118 IETT vehicles have been inspected in this way so far.

Thanks to the operations carried out at the IETT Inspection station, it is aimed to increase driving and passenger safety in public transportation and to reduce vehicle breakdowns even more.
