New Graded Electricity Tariff in the Official Gazette

In his statement after the cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan stated that electricity tariffs will be regulated and said, “We are increasing the monthly consumption from 150 kilowatts to 210 kilowatts.” The decision regarding the new regulation was published in the Official Gazette. With the decision, bills over 210 kilowatt-hours will decrease by 42 liras.

After the hike in the New Year, a new step was taken for the electricity bills, which was the subject of discussion, and the first level consumption limit was changed.

President Erdoğan announced that as a result of the study on high bill complaints, the daily electricity consumption amount, which was calculated as 5 kilowatts at the lowest tariff, was increased to 7 kilowatts, thus the limit of 150 kilowatts was increased to 210 kilowatts.

The decision regarding the new regulation was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

So how will this change be reflected in the invoice?

The consumption of 210 kilowatt-hours had an invoice amount of 329 lira, according to the tariff that came into effect at the beginning of the year. With the new decision, the invoice amount of 210 kilowatt-hour consumption will be 287 liras. Thus, a discount of 42 liras will be provided on the bill.
