On-Street Paid Parking Application Ended in Samsun

The period of paid parking on the road in Samsun has come to an end. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “105 parkomat machines will be dismantled by our department teams. As of February 1, the application has been lifted,” he said.

The parkomat application, operated by Parktek Parking Lot Management in Samsun, has ended. The 10-year contract period with the company that received the tender has been completed. With the expiration of the contract as of February 1, 2022, the application was removed.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “In 2011, traffic circulation and geometric arrangement projects were prepared, and the contract covering the determination of on-road parking spaces on boulevards and streets and the operation of paid parking throughout the province and within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Municipality was terminated. With the completion of the contract period, the application was lifted throughout the province.”

Mentioning that Parkomat devices have been embezzled by the Machinery Supply, Maintenance and Repair Department, President Demir said, “105 parkomat machines will be dismantled by our department teams. As of February 1, the application has been abolished. Therefore, no fee can be charged for the paid parking lot. At this point, we want to be careful with those who demand fees. If such a situation is encountered, those who demand money should be reported to the police,” he said.
