Marmaray Excavations: Düzce University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Archeology 10. Within the scope of the Year Activities, a conference on Bakış Istanbul Archeology from Marmaray Excavations ”was held.

The event held in Cumhuriyet Conference Hall; Without the Vice Rector Dr. İlhan Genç, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dr. Metin Akkuş, faculty members and students attended.

Zeynep Sezin Kızıltan, the Director of the Istanbul Archaeological Museum, participated in the program as an invited speaker and made her presentation titled Bakış A Look at Istanbul Archeology from Marmaray Excavations ”.

Technology and planning, as well as the application area in a center with important historical background, such as Istanbul, the Marmaray project makes more remarkable voicing Kızıltan, gave information about the works uncovered during the Marmaray excavations.

MS 12, 13. Zeynep Sezin Kızıltan said that the remains of a church belonging to the 18th century were unearthed and there were approximately 23 original graves in the works carried out in and around this church.

The remains of Theodosius harbor, boats and neolithic settlements unearthed in Kızıltan, Yenikapı excavation area, Ottoman and Byzantine architectural remains found in Sirkeci and Üsküdar, and the archaic, classical, Hellenistic and Roman finds found under these ruins, city history and world culture. made a very important contribution to the history. Zeynep Sezin Kızıltan concluded his presentation by stating that the historical values ​​of the excavations will be exhibited in the archaeological park and Marmaray Museum.

At the end of the conference, Istanbul Archeology Museum Director Zeynep Sezin Kızıltan Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Metin Akkuş presented a certificate of appreciation.
