Erhan Adem announced that CHP municipalities will be mobilized more to support agriculture and animal husbandry.
“Our country faces serious problems in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry. As a result of wrong policies followed for years, these strategic sectors have been neglected, production has decreased and our dependence on imports has increased. However, agriculture and animal husbandry are the lifeblood of our country. It is essential to strengthen these areas in order for our economy to function properly, to ensure our food security and to increase employment.
CHP municipalities have provided various supports to producers and farmers and will continue to do so. As the Republican People's Party, we will make agriculture and animal husbandry one of our priority areas when we come to power. But we cannot bear to wait. The incompetence and indifference of the government leaves our country facing more problems. For this reason, we will mobilize CHP municipalities to support agriculture and animal husbandry. We know the problems of our producers and farmers and we are ready with our solution suggestions.
Our municipalities will support our farmers and producers at every stage of agricultural production. Solutions will be produced for issues such as seed supply, fertilizer support and irrigation infrastructure. In the livestock sector, preventing fluctuations in feed prices, combating animal diseases and establishing modern livestock facilities will be among our priorities. We are working to establish and support cooperatives for the marketing and export of agricultural products and to protect and increase the productivity of agricultural lands.
CHP municipalities will transfer their own resources to these areas and will also benefit from the resources of international organizations. We will cooperate with universities, non-governmental organizations and the private sector. We will also benefit from the valuable knowledge of our people.
We have prepared a comprehensive road map for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry. We will take into account regional differences and adopt a compatible and sustainable approach to climate change. We will especially support young farmers and women producers.
We know that agriculture and animal husbandry are not only an economic but also a social issue. It is essential to develop these sectors in order to prevent migration from rural to urban areas, create employment and maintain our people's dependence on natural habitats.
