Open Invitation to the Challenge from Çeşme Ecology Platform

Çeşme Ecology Platform asked, "Won't we say 'stop' to the massacre of hundreds of sacred olive trees in Sakarya District for land rent?"

Making a written press statement on the subject, the platform said, "Won't we hold accountable those who cause unauthorized excavations, tree chopping and eco-destruction in the uniquely beautiful, natural archaeological site of Hagia Yorgi and stop them? Won't we say stop to those who kill the sand lilies that bloom in August and October, which are under protection in Altınkum, and those who place containers in the sea?
Aren't we going to hold accountable the administrations that approved high-rise residences by selling the public beach land in Ilıca, where we all used to swim for years, and that caused construction chemicals to be dumped into the sea in that process? Aren't we going to stop the development of a 9000 square meter protected area in Dalyan? Now, won't we stop the sewage waters pouring into the sea here in Şifne? He also asked questions.

In the statement, it was stated that this sewage, which has been left in this stream for years and poured into the sea on the three bays of Ilıca Beach, poses a very serious danger that will destroy marine life. While we are in bitter experience, we still do not accept that similar mistakes are being made by the local and metropolitan municipality in Çeşme. The seas are not sewage waste pools. "Aware that there is no human life without marine life, we demand that an advanced biological treatment facility be built as soon as possible, which will stop the discharge of this sewage into the sea."

Platform members invited all sensitive public, life defenders, the people of Izmir and especially the people of Çeşme to support solidarity and struggle to make this cry heard.
