Minister Özhaseki and Mayor Büyükkılıç Planted 271 Thousand 500 Saplings in Soil

The activities carried out for the afforestation of Kayseri in the spring period at 3 points of the city, namely Erciyes Mountain Tekir Plateau and its Surroundings, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Nation Garden and Ali Mountain, were carried out with the Erciyes Mountain Tekir Plateau and its Surroundings Carbon Sink Area Afforestation Ceremony.

In the sapling planting program, which took place at 3 points, Minister Özhaseki followed the planting activity by connecting to the planting activity at the sapling planting points via video call.

In his speech at the Erciyes Mountain Tekir Plateau and Surroundings Carbon Sink Area Afforestation Ceremony, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki reminded the statement of scientists that 'The life of cities is longer than the life of states' and gave examples from the history of the ancient cities of Anatolia. Stating that they succeeded in bringing Mount Erciyes to tourism at the tourism point in Kayseri, Özhaseki noted that greening works were carried out in the said region and nearly 7 million trees were planted. Stating that their duties as a ministry are difficult, Minister Özhaseki emphasized that, on the one hand, they are trying to prevent environmental pollution and carry out greening activities, and on the other hand, they are trying to eliminate the damages and heal the wounds of the earthquake in Turkey, which is an earthquake country. At the end of his words, Özhaseki mentioned that trees have a very important place in Turkish culture and civilization and underlined that they planted 271 thousand 500 saplings that will be an example today.

Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükılıç stated that everyone appreciated the importance of Mount Erciyes and said that Minister Özhaseki implemented the Erciyes Ski Center, which has become one of the most important ski resorts in Turkey and the world. In his speech, Mayor Büyükkılıç thanked Minister Özhaseki and his team for these meaningful works, and said, "We all observe that our Erciyes Ski Center will gain more meaning with afforestation, and that at the same time, importance is given to the work to be done regarding carbon footprint with the work to be done in this region. Our aim is to care about nature and the environment and to show the necessary sensitivity on this issue. "We express our efforts to become the most meaningful ski resort by reciting the Bismillah and planting trees and integrating Erciyes with the lush green nature of its snow during the period when it was covered in snow-white snow," he said.

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Murat Cahid Cıngı stated that Erciyes, which has been used only for its water and appearance for years, has now become a world-class ski resort, thanked Minister Özhaseki for his efforts and wished the planted saplings to be beneficial.

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Mr. Bayar Özsoy, who attended the sapling planting ceremony via video call from Ali Mountain, stated that Central Anatolia was also very affected by global warming and that these struggles were very meaningful and thanked those who contributed. Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın also gave information about the Ali Mountain hiking trail, saying "May God bless those who contributed."

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu, who attended the ceremony from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden, wished that the saplings planted in Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden, which has been the attraction point of Kayseri lately, would be beneficial.

At the ceremony, in commemoration of the day, a painting containing Erciyes, trees and Minister Özhaski's portrait was presented to Minister Özhaseki by Nurettin Taş, General Director of Combating Desertification and Erosion of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Minister Özhaseki, Mayor Büyükkılıç and accompanying participants also inspected Erciyes Ski Center and planted a total of 3 thousand 271 saplings in 500 points of the city.

IT WILL STORE 2 THOUSAND 468 TONS OF CARBON PER YEAR, AND A TOTAL OF 271 THOUSAND 500 SEEDLINGS WERE IN THE SOIL

A total of 2 thousand 468 saplings were planted in the soil, where the saplings to be planted will form a sink area that will hold 271 thousand 500 tons of carbon annually. At the ceremony, 97 thousand Scots pine, 95 thousand false acacia, 33 thousand birch, 14 thousand juniper, 13 thousand 744 rose hip, 3 thousand 756 pear tree, 1.500 aspen, 4 thousand Taurus cedar and 9 thousand 500 trees, shrubs and perennial plants met with the soil. It is envisaged that the afforested area will alleviate and ultimately prevent sudden and heavy rains caused by climate change and therefore floods, and improve the air quality of the region.
