'Northern Highway' Will Relieve Bursa Traffic

Stating that the Northern Motorway (KÖSOB) will be built by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in addition to the comfort provided by the two corridors they created, Mayor Alinur Aktaş said, “The 29-kilometer Northern Motorway to be built by our Ministry will play an important role in relieving Bursa traffic. The Ovaakça-Badırga section of the Istanbul-İzmir highway will be moved to the north and a new highway route will be created. The currently used highway will be used as a Ring Road to serve Bursa urban traffic. "Thus, with the connection roads to be built on this route, there will be significant relief and alternatives in urban traffic," he said.

Stating that they have also prepared bridge, intersection and connection road projects for the road in question to operate at maximum efficiency, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are solving the nodes in transportation one by one. The first is the connection road and intersection arrangements between Mudanya Road and City Hospital. We are creating a new alternative route from Mudanya road to the City Hospital and from there to Özlüce, with intersection arms that will allow vehicles coming from Mudanya and Bursa directions to enter and exit the City Hospital without interruption. The second one is Bademli Boulevard. We are expanding the section from Bademli junction to Bademli old village as a divided road and turning it into a boulevard. Third, Gateway bridge expansion. With the project we have initiated, we are eliminating the bottleneck on the Mudanya road by building an additional bridge next to the historical bridge. Fourthly, two intersections on Ata Boulevard: 23 Nisan intersection and Gümrük intersection. "In order to make the traffic flow on Ata Boulevard faster and safer, we are turning the intersections, one in front of Customs and the other at the entrance of 23 Nisan District/OSB, into underground crossing intersections," he said.

TWO BRIDGE INTERCHANGE ON ORHANELİ ROAD
