Karabük University Will Train Machinists

"Railway Training Institutions Regulation Update, Railway Training Institutions Authorization and Training Curriculum Evaluation Workshop" started at Karabük University (KBÜ).

"Railway Training Institutions Authorization and Training Curriculum Evaluation Workshop" KBÜ organized for the purpose of working on the necessary regulations for the issuance of Personal Safety Certificates for Rail Systems Machinist License and other Railway Safety Critical Tasks to Higher Education Institutions, and reviewing and updating the training standards in the railway sector. It was held in the Senate Chamber.

To the workshop; KBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Rakıp Karaş, Eskipazar Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Tülay Ekemen Keskin, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Transport Services Regulation Certification Department Head Mustafa Erdem Kırmızıgül, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Transport Services Regulation Chief Mücahit Fatih Çelik, Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) Head of Training Department Cüneyt Türkkuşu, TCDD Branch Manager Hakan Karlıdağ, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. Education Department Ergün Seçkin, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. Engineers Çağdaş Görgülü and Kamil Esen, KBÜ, Eskişehir Technical University and Sivas Cumhuriyet University academicians attended.

Stating that the workshop is a very important step for the development of the sector and that significant progress will be made in the field of railway education with the implementation of the decisions taken, Rector Kırışık said, “As the University, we are also working on rail systems. Our academic knowledge in this regard is quite good and we have many qualified departments. Our Eskipazar Vocational School has gained a certain competence in this regard. "We want to gain certain qualifications in training machinists," he said.

Rector Kırışık stated that Karabük is an important province in terms of railway transportation and emphasized that this importance will increase especially with the implementation of the Filyos Project and that the existence of KARDEMİR is important for the development of rail systems and increasing the authority of our university in this regard.

Rector Kırışık emphasized that the railway sector has strategic importance for the country's economy and stated that Karabük University will continue to support studies in this field. KBÜ Rector Kırışık included the following statements in his words:

“As Karabük University, we are a successful university with the necessary knowledge in the field of rail systems. We want to make great contributions to railway transportation with the education we provide to our students and the academic experiences we have. We provide adequate theoretical training to our students in terms of Rail Systems Machinist license. This job also includes application training. It is extremely important for us to receive support from our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and TCDD in this regard. This workshop will provide significant benefits in terms of improving the cooperation between us and increasing the competencies of our students, making it easier for them to work in railways. As Karabük University, we are very happy to host such a valuable workshop. We would like to thank our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Transportation Services Regulation, TCDD General Directorate, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. for participating in this workshop. In the workshop, as a result of the work carried out by the ministry with the relevant institutions of the EU, if interoperability with the EU is ensured in the railway, ideas were exchanged on the issues that the machinists to be assigned to trips from Turkey to abroad should have the capabilities stipulated in international regulations. At the workshop, taking into account the needs of the railway sector and current education standards, the steps to be taken to make the human resources trained in the railway field more effective and qualified in the future were discussed. Participants made suggestions for educational institutions to collaborate more effectively and respond better to the needs of the sector.

The workshop will end with the Rail Systems Machinist's License Training Curriculum Discussion and Evaluation Meeting and a visit to Eskipazar Vocational School.
