Mayor Aktaş, “We will process the Khanlar Region step by step”

BURSA (IGFA) – Metropolitan Mayor and People's Alliance Bursa Metropolitan Mayor candidate Alinur Aktaş, who initiated the transformation works for the 'Resilient city Bursa' with scientific infrastructure, holistic perspective, correct planning and common sense, said that urban transformation will be the most important topic in the new period. Mayor Aktaş said, “We continue our urban transformation works on four main headings: historical areas, manufacturing and industrial areas, public spaces and buildings, along with residential areas. Our 2050 Environmental Plan will form the main axis of all our physical planning and design work. "In our new term, we will put the Environmental Plan into effect as the city constitution with academic contributions, common sense and consensus," he said.

HISTORICAL KHANS REGION
Stating that the historical urban design projects will be carried out on the historical axis of 'Sculpture-Setbaşı-Green-Emirsultan', Mayor Aktaş stated that the works carried out especially in the Khans Region suit Bursa very well. Stating that one of the most important components of the resilient city Bursa is the historical areas that bear the tiredness and deep traces of centuries, Mayor Aktaş said, “We made history with our 'Çarşıbaşı Square' project in the Khans District, the heart of Bursa, which has been talked about for many years. In the historical region, which is a complete open-air museum, there are 14 inns, 1 covered bazaar, 13 open bazaars, 7 covered bazaars, 11 covered bazaars, 4 market areas, 21 mosques, 177 examples of civil architecture, 1 school and 3 tombs. Within the scope of the 'Historical Bazaar and Inns Region Çarşıbaşı Urban Transformation Project', which we implemented with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, we demolished 38 buildings surrounding the historical region. We unearthed the 342-year-old Esiri Mehmet Dede Tomb, surrounded by shops, and the Sağrıcı Sungur Masjid, which dates back to 1549. Bakırcılar Square, İpekhan Square, Sağrıcı Sungur Masjid and landscaping arrangements were opened to the public. The parking lot was completely covered and the square became a whole. But our work is not over yet. This was just the beginning. We will cover the Khans Region, which has been the heart of trade throughout history and is on the UNESCO world heritage list, step by step. "We will continue to unearth history in the Capital City of Bursa, together with the Khans Region," he said.

HİSAR REGION
Stating that the work will continue in the Hisar Region as well as the Khans Region, Mayor Aktaş said, “Hisar Region is Bursa, which contains the oldest traces of the city's history, with its walls, Bithynia galleries, two sultans it hosts, its spiritual climate and countless cultural heritage, and the neighborhood culture that has been lived for centuries. It is one of the rarest values of our country. We have unearthed many artifacts in this region in the past period. We have reached an important level in the region with our work. Likewise, Osmangazi Municipality also has projects carried out in the Hisar Region. "In the coming period, we will ensure that this rare region gets the value it deserves, just like the Khanlar Region," he said.

SETBAŞI-YEŞİL-EMİRSULTAN REGION
Stating that they will carry out important works in the new period for the Setbaşı-Yeşil-Emirsultan region on the historical axis of the city, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are carrying out the transformation in this region in line with the work we have done in the field with the residents and tradesmen in the Setbaşı-Yeşil-Emirsultan section of the historical axis on which we are working. "We are bringing to light another important value of Bursa with our project that will activate the tourism potential of the area and meet the needs of pedestrian transportation, social facilities and parking," he said.

KAYHAN SQUARE AND PARKING PARK
Stating that they will highlight the gastronomy aspect of Kayhan Region, one of the important historical regions of the city, Mayor Aktaş said, “One of the most important works we will carry out in the Kayhan region is our square and parking lot project. "Our square project, which we will build in an area of 3 thousand square meters where the Tekel building used to be and where the minibus stops are located, will eliminate an important deficiency, especially in our market area, with its indoor parking lot for approximately 300 vehicles," he said.

CUMALIKIZ-GOLYAZI-UMURBEY-KULTURPARK
Stating that they will protect and preserve historical neighborhoods and villages as well as historical areas and commercial areas, Mayor Aktaş said, “We highlight the historical texture with the arrangements we made in Cumalıkızık, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will create a Cumalıkızık that will be envied by its visitors, where the irregularities will be eliminated and the parking problem will be eliminated. We will make Gölyazı, which shines like a pearl in the waters of Uluabat Lake, a unique tourism destination. We will make moves that will highlight the historical texture of Umurbey District, where life continued throughout history on the slopes of Gemlik. We will bring an 8 thousand square meter modern city square to Gürsu. We will make Kültürpark, which has been serving the people of Bursa for 69 years, suitable and usable for today's conditions with the urban design project. "We are also renovating the Archeology Museum located in Kültürpark," he said.
