Rail System Export from Sakarya to Switzerland

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the Delivery Ceremony of New Generation Smart Railway Maintenance Vehicles produced for Swiss State Railways in Sakarya.

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that many investments and projects have been carried out all over Turkey in the last 22 years.

"Under the leadership of our President, we have determined the railways as a priority sector with the development moves we have initiated since 2002," said Minister Uraloğlu, adding, "We have handled our railways with a new approach suitable for combined transportation by ensuring the connection of our railway lines to ports, airports and logistics centers." "With the projects, we plan to make railway transportation contributing to the economy not only on the east-west line, but also between the north-south coasts," he said.

WE WILL INCREASE OUR RAILWAY LINE LENGTH TO 28 THOUSAND 590 KILOMETERS

Minister Uraloğlu noted that they created the safest, shortest and most economical international railway corridor from London to Beijing with MARMARAY, which makes uninterrupted railway transportation between the Asian and European continents possible with the project in question, and added that the railway network, which was 2002 thousand 10 km in 948, was 14 thousand km. Stating that they increased it to 165 kilometers, he said:

“By introducing high-speed train to our country from scratch, we built a 2 thousand 251 kilometer high-speed train network. We put Ankara-Eskişehir, Eskişehir-İstanbul, Ankara-Konya, Konya-Karaman and Ankara-Sivas high-speed train lines into service. Now we have put the Ankara-Istanbul Super Speed ​​​​Train Line project on the agenda and completed the preliminary project work. The route length of our super high speed train line will be 344 kilometers. We plan to reduce the travel time to 350 minutes with our trains that will reach a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. We have also included the Northern Marmara High Speed ​​Train line project, which will pass from Gebze over the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and reach Istanbul Airport and finally Çatalca, among our plans. With our 2053 Transportation and Logistics master plan and road map, we list the number of provinces receiving high-speed train services; Ankara-İzmir, Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep, Halkalı-When we complete all our high-speed train projects such as Kapikule, we will increase it to 52. We will also increase our railway line length to 28 thousand 590 kilometers.”

Pointing out that a serious national railway industry has been created in the last 22 years, Minister Uraloğlu also stated that they have transformed TÜRASAŞ into one of the largest rail system vehicle manufacturers in the Middle East and said, "In the process we have come to today, we have achieved international standards; "We produce main, critical and sub-products ourselves, such as new generation locomotives, diesel and electric train sets, passenger wagons, freight wagons, traction converters, traction motors, diesel engines and train control management systems," he said.

After the opening ceremony, Minister Uraloğlu toured the factory and examined the manufacturing sites of the vehicles.
