Speaking during the visit of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and People's Alliance Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün, People's Alliance Turgutlu Mayor Candidate Yunus Oğan and his accompanying delegation to TUTSO, 22nd Term AK Party Manisa Deputy Süleyman Turgut talked about the construction of prestige streets, infrastructure investments, Alparslan Türkeş Köprülü Junction and the construction of the city life. In his speech during the visit, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün said, “I am happy to meet with you, our esteemed chamber presidents, in Turgutlu. Following the Manisa Mayoral process that started in 2009, the people of Manisa were rewarded for the services we provided in 2014 and 2019. We tried to do our work in return. We also served our Turgutlu a lot. Although there have been budget restrictions in infrastructure expenses due to Covid and the earthquake recently, we, as the Metropolitan Municipality, tried to touch our citizens with the services of our nearly 40 departments. We brought a huge underpass to the district, where fatal accidents occur every day. "Every time I pass here I say, 'I'm glad we did it,'" he said.

“THE FUTURE IS OF OUR CHILDREN”

Noting that one of Manisa's biggest problems in the past years was garbage, Mayor Ergün said, “We should not forget that these fires are featured on national television every year. We have implemented transfer stations and train transportation in 17 districts. We brought a magnificent facility to our city. In addition, we bring added value to both the municipal budget and our country by burning garbage with a biogas facility. We are happy to bring this to life. The future belongs to our children. In order to leave them a better future, there are wastewater treatment plants that I focus on. We have implemented treatment facilities that will prevent the pollution of the Gediz Plain. When we took office, there were 13 treatment plants and a few of them were working. Today, we increased the number of treatment facilities to 20. We strived to leave a more livable Manisa that we would entrust to our children. Today, all our facilities are fully operational. "One of them is in Turgutlu," he said.

“HE EXPLAINED ASPHALT AND INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS AND AGRICULTURAL SUPPORTS”

In his speech, Mayor Ergün also touched upon the asphalt and infrastructure works throughout the province and said, “We have completed all the infrastructures of our 265 neighborhoods so far. We also made major investments in saving their superstructures from mud. In addition, we have completed 6 thousand 600 kilometers of asphalt works so far. We continue our work to the remotest point of 1088 neighborhoods. Thank God, nearly 1350 water tanks were renewed. In terms of agricultural support, we received support exceeding 150 million last year. "May God not put me to shame," he said.

“WE DID NOT LOOK POLITICALLY, WE PRODUCED SERVICES”

As Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, they allocated the prestige streets, marketplace and car park project areas, the majority of which were completed in the first term of the Metropolitan Municipality, to the district municipality upon the request of Turgutlu Mayor Çetin Akın, and after this allocation, the mayor made political statements saying that we brought Turgutlu's property to Turgutlu. Mayor Ergün stated, “We hear the statements of Turgutlu Mayor Çetin Akın. They have some statements about the services we provide. We laugh and move on. Last term, we completed the rainwater lines and prestige street arrangements of all the streets in the main arteries of Turgutlu. During this period, we carried out these works on some of the streets leading to the hospital, such as Fırat Çakıroğlu and Eski Manisa Road. Turgutlu Mayor Çetin Bey came and asked if you could give these streets to me. We said no. We did not look at the incident politically. If he would provide service to the people living in Turgutlu, we gave him all the main arteries and streets we built without prejudice. Then he demanded the marketplace and the parking lot. We gave that too. However, what he said afterwards made me sad. These were the property of the people of Turgut, he says, and we brought them back to Turgut. Do we live in another country? If we, as the Metropolitan Municipality, provided these services to this district and delivered them to you, I cannot find words to express these statements. This is the only part that makes me sad. He made another request for the 3rd Region of Irlamaz. We supported the planting of saplings and trees in that area and the construction of wire fences, and he also contributed. God bless you. This is the point I am most sensitive to in infrastructure investments. While serving a place, making sewage, drinking water and rain water lines, making main branch connections, and then moving on to the superstructure. This was the case with the work I did in Turgutlu last term, and this was also the case in Selvilitepe this term. We will be patient for that. Citizens see what is being done in that region. We can say that it is close to 90 percent. Again, the biggest problem of Turgutlu is in the İstasyonaltı region, we saw heavy rains there. We prepared our plans for there. Work continues in İstasyonaltı District with large culverts. When I say we shouldn't let the past be forgotten. I have not forgotten the waist-deep waters and the flood waters descending to the main arteries before completing the Turgutlu submerged output of the existing tunnel. Our brothers also see this. These incidents that occurred in the past years do not occur in the main arteries or within the city. This is all within the plan program. You do it with the budget possibilities of that year. "We are making an effort to provide the same services not only to Turgutlu but also to all 17 neighborhoods in 1088 districts," he said.

“WE ARE ONE OF THE METROPOLITAN CITIES THAT USE ITS BUDGET BEST”

Mayor Ergün said, “In the first period, this region, Turgutlu-Salihli-Kula-Sarıgöl-Alaşehir, and the Ankara route received more investment. In the second period, the Gölmarmara-Akhisar-Soma Istanbul route received more investment. Gölmarmara was also waist-deep in water. In Akhisar, Tahir Ün Street and others were knee-deep in water. As a result, with the investments we made, all of this is a thing of the past. These studies were also carried out in the main arteries of Gördes. Currently, an infrastructure and treatment facility investment worth 656 million liras is being made in Demirci alone. There is only 750 thousand square meters of stone flooring in the district center. In addition, the infrastructure and treatment facilities worth approximately 350 million lira in Selendi are at the point of completion. After all, these are all calculations, budgets and planning. We said budget, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is one of the metropolitan municipalities that plans its budget best. It is partly a matter of my sensitivity to the subject, my meticulousness, and partly my education. Every year we came first or second in Türkiye. Recently, we hosted our Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, in Manisa. Thank you, they visited us too. We made a presentation to him. He also used the following statements.
