KONYARAY SUMMARY LINE IS TARGET TO OPEN IN 2026

Providing information about the KONYARAY Suburban Line, the construction of which is carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the scope of Konya Rail System Projects, Mayor Altay stated that the tender for the first stage, which has a length of 17.4 kilometers, starting from Meram Station and ending with the Logistics Center, said, "It will consist of 13 stations, especially Meram We are rapidly continuing the construction of our Organized Industrial Zone, which will be used extensively by our citizens going to the industrial zone from , and will create a new breath for the transportation of our new industrial areas. "Hopefully, we plan to complete our work on the suburban line and put it into service in 2026," he said.

“MAJOR PART OF THE ALAADDIN-SELÇUK UNIVERSITY LINE WILL GO UNDERGROUND”

"Hopefully, we plan to complete these projects as soon as possible and bring this line, consisting of 20 kilometers and 19 stations, to our city in the next 5 years," he said.

ALAADDİN-NECMETTİN ERBAKAN UNIVERSITY LINE; FETİH STREET-AHMET ÖZCAN STREET LINE

Noting that the tender for the part of the Alaaddin-Necmettin Erbakan University Line from the direction of Beyşehir Road to Alaaddin will be held as soon as possible, Mayor Altay said, “Fetih Street-Ahmet Özcan Street starts from YHT Station and continues along Fetih Street and continues to Ahmet Özcan Street, Chechnya. There will be a tram line that will continue from the Street and join the Necmettin Erbakan Line at Sivaslı Ali Kemal Street. Mayor Altay said, “We plan to lay the foundation of the Courthouse-City Hospital-New Industrial Line, which is the first stage of the Courthouse-City Hospital-Stadium Rail System Line to be built by our Municipality, at a cost of 1 billion 555 million liras, within a month. Thus, we plan to start our line, which is 11.2 kilometers long and has 13 stations, in 2024. Another line of ours is the 16.9 kilometer Barış Caddesi Tram Line. "This is a line that starts from Fırat Street, continues from Beyhekim Hospital, intersects with the new tram line we will build at Barış Street Junction and comes to Kent Plaza," he said.

With this project, we have put a seal on the Taurus Mountains by uninterruptedly connecting the Mediterranean Region and the Central Anatolia Region. We are currently continuing to work on 8 separate projects such as Konya Ring Road, Alacabel Tunnel, Konya-Ereğli-Ulukışla Road, Akşehir-Yunak Road. We will build the project in 3 separate stages. We will increase the total number of lines to four by adding a new line between the 28 km Konya Train Station and Kayacık Logistics Center, which is the first stage of our project, for which we delivered the site on April 19,7 last year. We will operate YHT on 2 lines, and KONYARAY suburban and conventional trains on 2 lines. With its newly built stations, modern, fast and comfortable operating system, this line will be at the service of the people of Konya with its surface metro feature. This system, which includes 13 stations, will also serve the industrial zone. Like this; "We will also reduce the traffic congestion experienced during working hours."

“OUR MINISTRY WILL PROVIDE A 55,6 KILOMETER RAIL SYSTEM LINE TO KONYA”

Minister Uraloğlu said, “Konya is one of the most important cities that our ministry supports in the execution of urban rail system lines works. Both our ministry and Konya Metropolitan Municipality are developing new projects for new urban rail system projects consisting of metro and tram lines that will relieve Konya's urban traffic density. These lines; The 20-kilometer Selçuk University-Aladdin Light Rail System Line is the 10-kilometer-long second stage of the City Hospital-Stadium Tram Line, the first stage of which was tendered to our metropolitan municipality. 10 kilometers long Necmettin Erbakan University-Aladdin Rail System Line and 15,6 kilometers long Fetih Caddesi-Ahmet Özcan Tram Line. In summary, our Ministry will bring 55,6 kilometers of rail system line to Konya.”
