Khojaly Martyrs Commemorated in the New Azerbaijan Park

The commemoration ceremony held in front of the Martyrs' Monument in Azerbaijan Park started with a moment of silence and then the singing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın said, “32 years ago, Armenians massacred 613 of our citizens, including children and old women. The pain is still within us. However, fortunately, for a while, with the support and stance of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Karabakh gained its emancipation, that is, its freedom. "We are happy and proud of this," he said.

Talking about the Azerbaijan Brotherhood Park and its contents in his speech, Mayor Yalçın said, “A while ago, on February 7, we witnessed something important and beautiful in the Shusha Azerbaijan House. Azerbaijani Presidential elections were held in 3 places in Turkey, one of them was in this place, and we are proud to host it.” We hear. "Building the Azerbaijan Brotherhood Park on 20 thousand m², moving this monument here, building the Shusha House is our gift to our Azerbaijani brothers, and our Azerbaijani brothers deserve the best of everything," he said.

"WE NEED TO BE STRONG"

Referring to the genocide in Gaza, Mayor Yalçın said, “As you know, a massacre is also taking place in Palestine. Almost 30 thousand people lost their lives in the massacre that started in Gaza. Global powers are determined to murder both our kinsmen and our co-religionists. Therefore, the stronger the Republic of Turkey and the Azerbaijani state, the more we will be able to raise our voice. May God grant both the Azerbaijani state and the Republic of Turkey many centuries of life. "I wish God's mercy to our citizens from Khojaly and all over the world who lost their lives oppressed," he said.

“PRESIDENT YALÇIN IS STRUGGLE TO NOT BE FORGOTTEN”

Shusha Azerbaijan House Association President Elshan Ganbarov, in his speech, thanked President Yalçın's sensitivity to the issue and said, “I would especially like to thank our President Yalçın, who struggled like a cultural guardian to ensure that history is not forgotten. History never likes those who forget. Forgetting history is like being faced with a massacre that took place in Khojaly 100 years later, just like it happened in Erzurum 100 years ago. I wish God's mercy to our martyrs who lost their lives in Khojaly. "May God give long life to our nation," he said.

Kayseri University Rector Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, in his speech emphasizing one nation, two states, said, “Azerbaijan and Turkey have a bond of love from past to present. If it snows in Azerbaijan, we get cold here. Even if it snowed in Turkey, there is no doubt that our Azerbaijani brothers would feel cold there. How happy today is that the Karabakh region has found peace with the brotherhood and unity of hearts between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Sinan Temür, Vice President of Kayseri Operations of Azerbaijani company Socar's Turkey Natural Gas Business Unit, said: “I feel the Khojaly genocide deeply. After the speeches, a wreath was laid and carnations were laid at the Khojaly Monument in memory of those who lost their lives in the massacre.
