Trainees who attended the Assistant Chef course were given detailed training on Turkish Cuisine dishes, especially the local dishes of Samsun.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality continues its educational activities that support citizens in every field. In this context, vocational training courses opened in cooperation with the District Public Education Centers, with the work carried out by the Social Services Department, Women, Family and Community Services Branch Directorate, continue. 39 trainees attended the recently opened two Vocational Training Courses, Assistant Chef and Turkish Cuisine. Goose tiridi, one of the most important delicacies of Samsun, prepared by the trainees, received full marks from the Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Department Head İdris Akdin, Women, Family and Community Services Branch Manager Bekir Söylemez, and Elderly and Disabled Services Branch Manager Emrah Baş, who tasted it. .
Master Instructor Mualla Köroğlu stated that the students participated in a 450-hour course program and said, “In our course, our students are equipped in the field of culinary techniques. They learn everything from cost, recipe, weight, menu planning, preparation of products to plating and service. Our course has been continuing for 2023 months in the 2024-2,5 academic year. 450 hours corresponds to 3,5 months. At the end of this course, our trainees will receive a 'Vocational Training Certificate' and will be entitled to get a job in this field. İdris Akdin, Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of the Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they attach great importance to the course programs opened to enable citizens to learn a profession and participate in employment and said, “Among our trainees, women are especially dominant.
