GİZEM ÖZCAN; “WE WILL DEVELOP BY PRODUCING AND GROWING”

CHP Muğla deputy Gizem Özcan said; “Olives are a product that has been important for all civilizations. Our great leader Atatürk started the olive mobilization and established the Bornova Olive Institute. We see an extension of this today. Our metropolitan municipality is following in the footsteps of our Atatürk in this direction. For this reason, our Metropolitan Mayor Dr. I would like to thank the members of the cooperative, including Osman Gürün, and everyone who contributed. “We will develop by producing and growing.”

AHMET ARAS; “OLIVE REPRESENTS LIFE. “Whoever TOUCHES THE OLIVE TOUCHES THE FUTURE, LIFE AND OUR CHILDREN.”

CHP Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate and Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras said the following at the opening; “First of all, I would like to thank our esteemed Metropolitan Mayor. We will work to develop and build upon the services he provided within the framework of his vision. Local governments must exist in every aspect of life. In these days when economic conditions are bad, we also support the family budget by contributing to production with these investments. Recently, our cooperatives have taken an important step with the support of our municipalities. Women's cooperatives also contribute to the liberation of women. We will continue this support. Our olive groves are under threat from energy investments. We have no objection to investments that respect the environment, but if you destroy the olives planted by my ancestors, we will stand against it. Olive represents life. Anyone who touches olives touches the future, life, and our children. From now on, our agricultural policies will continue to develop. “I hope this beautiful facility will be beneficial to Milas and Muğla.” said.

CHP Muğla Provincial Chairman Zekican Balcı said that the government that has been ruling the country for 22 years has paved the way for a transition from a Turkey that produces agriculture to a Turkey that imports, and that local governments support production by following the opposite policy, and that it is a lifeline for the producers.

PRESIDENT GÜRÜN; “WE NEED TO CREATE THE QUALITY OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION WHERE OUR YOUTH DO NOT GO AWAY FROM THE VILLAGES, BUT RETURN TO THEIR VILLAGES.”

Speaking at the opening of Bafa Olive Oil Production Facility, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Osman Gürün said that they produce together with producers, cooperatives and women producers in the fertile lands of Muğla, and that they are working to protect Muğla, the city of agriculture, tourism and culture, for the future and to carry it with all its values.

President Gürün; “10 years ago, we put forward a vision and tried to figure out what we could do about agriculture and where we could start. We established Turkey's most equipped soil and water analysis laboratory. We did something here that has never happened in Turkey. We determined the structure of the soil by performing soil analyses. In accordance with this structure, we support our producers by calculating which products will bring more income per acre in this field. We also bought materials for distillation and bottling to this facility. Memecik olives are a great value with their 800 to 1000 polyphenol content. Our country stands out due to the decrease in olive production in Spain. Olive oil prices are very high right now. Early harvest and cold pressing are on the minds of the producers. According to this technique, production will be made in this facility and the quality will be much higher. "We need to create the quality of agricultural production where young people do not move away from the villages but return to their villages." said.

Mayor Gürün said that they will hold two groundbreaking and opening ceremonies in Milas district soon; “We are bringing the Milas Ören sewage and treatment facility, which has not been solved for many years, to our district. We will also meet at the groundbreaking ceremony of our Milas Cultural Center. We will continue to protect and carry Muğla, which is an exemplary city with its infrastructure and superstructure and one of the most preferred cities in the world and our country, into the future. "said.

In 2021, a protocol was signed between Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and SS Bafa Natural Life Agricultural Production and Marketing Cooperative within the scope of the "Increasing Efficiency and Quality in Olive and Olive Oil Production" project. Within the scope of the protocol; Boutique Olive and Olive Oil Production Facility was established on the property numbered 101 parcel, island 42, Gölyaka District, Milas District, which belongs to Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. Approximately 700 kg of olives per hour will be pressed in the facility, and citizens will be offered filtering, bottling and air-conditioned storage services. In addition to production, the facility, where tasting training will be given and meeting and exhibition areas will be created, is aimed to become a tourism center open to outside visits, especially since it is located on the Latmos road.
