Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, who has been working to ensure that Antalya has a cleaner environment and nature since the first day he took office with the goal of "carbon neutral Antalya" Muhittin Böcekhas undertaken projects that will take firm steps towards this goal. Turkey's first facility that produces energy from waste heat for solid waste disposal was put into service in Kızıllı.
The facility, which started operating in 2021, was built on an area of 4 square meters and cost 500 million 7 thousand dollars. The facility, including waste heat boilers, steam turbine, condenser, cooling tower and water preparation units, has an installed power of 250 MWe and produces clean energy equivalent to the electricity consumption of 2.8 thousand households. This facility, which reduces carbon emissions in the fight against climate change and creates income for Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, is the first and only solid waste facility in Turkey that produces energy from waste heat with a steam turbine. The facility provides emission reductions equivalent to 9 thousand tons of carbon dioxide per month.
4 BIOMASS ENERGY PRODUCTION FACILITIES
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which produces energy from waste with 4 biomass energy production facilities, has an installed power of 40,36 MWe and produces electricity equivalent to the monthly electrical energy needs of 137.300 households. In this way, an emission reduction of 1 thousand 427 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent is achieved with the equivalent number of 597 million 500 thousand carbon sink trees.
THE NUMBER OF SPP INCREASES TO 21
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which makes environmentally friendly investments for a sustainable Antalya, turns Antalya's sun into energy with 17 Solar Power Plants. Municipality service building and Transportation Inc. It is the first public building to produce and store its energy with storage roof solar power plants installed on its roofs. With 12.67 solar power plants with a total installed power of 17 MWp, 7.250 MWh/year energy is produced, equivalent to 20.870 households. 7 Number of SPPs President Muhittin Böcek During the period, the installed capacity was increased to 17 solar power plants and the installed capacity was tripled.
With the implementation projects completed, 710 kW Manavgat Market Hall rooftop SPP, 600 kW Alanya drinking water treatment plant rooftop SPP, 450 kW Kütükçü pumping station rooftop SPP and 300 kW ASAT service building rooftop SPP were put into practice and an additional 4 SPPs were built. With this project, the number of solar power plants of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality will reach 21.
