Van Lake Coastal Road Brings the People of Van together with the Lake

The 12-kilometer Van Lake Coastal Road, which is one of the mega projects of the Van Metropolitan Municipality and connects the people of Van with Lake Van, was completed and opened to vehicle traffic. The official opening of the Van Lake Coastal Road will be held after the 1100-decare recreation area is completed.

The Van Lake's Necklace, 12-kilometer Coastal Road and 1100-acre Coastal Park Recreation Area Projects, which the people of Van have been eagerly awaiting, are being completed rapidly. Work was carried out with 100's of vehicles and personnel throughout the season on the Coastal Road, which was built entirely with the administrative workforce and resources of the Metropolitan Municipality. The road, whose hot asphalt, road marking and traffic sign works were completed, was opened to the service of the people of Van.

Governor of Van and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Ozan Balcı, thanked everyone who contributed to the completion of the coastal road and wished that the coastal road would be beneficial to the people of Van.

Stating that approximately 1100 million TL was spent for the Van Lake Coastal Road and 750 decare recreation areas, Governor and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Ozan Balcı said, “I wish the people of Van a safe journey on the new coastal road. Our road has been very beautiful. This place will be even more beautiful when our 1100 decare recreation area along the road is completed. It was a great service to Van. CITY TRAFFIC HAS BEEN BREATHTAKING

The project, which was implemented in two stages: İskele-Fidanlık and Fidanlık-Airport, brought together Edremit, İpekyolu and Tuşba districts on the beach, and gave a sigh of relief to the city traffic. In addition, it is aimed to extend Hatuniye Road, Eski Kale Road, Yaşar Kemal Park and the Coastal Road, which also has interconnections, to Erciş Road.

THE NATURE OF VAN LAKE AND THE NATURAL HABITATS OF LIFE WERE PROTECTED

In the project, which was implemented with the understanding of ecological municipalism, the nature of Lake Van was protected by preserving the reeds and natural habitats on the coast, while the natural habitats of the creatures around the lake were also preserved.

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT?

Within the scope of the mega project that adds value to the city by bringing the people of Van together with the unique nature of Lake Van, a 30-kilometer Coastal Road with a width of 12 meters, a 9 thousand-meter bicycle and walking path, seating areas, observation terraces, fountains, bird observation points, wooden walkways are built at international standards. Equipment such as sports and children's playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, lighting, fitness equipment, security booths, car parks, landscaping, green areas, WC and prayer rooms are being built.

In addition, within the scope of the project, thousands of trees and ornamental plants suitable for seasonal conditions were planted in the soil.
