Bodrum Municipality meticulously implements detection, criminal complaints, sealing procedures, fines and demolition decisions within the scope of the campaign to combat illegal construction.
In December 2023, 9 buildings were demolished, 88 buildings were demolished, and 71 ongoing construction sites were sealed. In addition, a fine of 107 million 818 thousand 788 Turkish Liras was imposed in December in accordance with the relevant legal regulations. Within the scope of the ongoing works, a demolition decision was taken for a total of 2023 buildings in 575, while the demolition decision was applied to 140 buildings, 2 thousand 421 constructions were stopped.
As part of the fight against illegal construction launched in 2019 by the teams affiliated with the Bodrum Municipality Building Control Directorate, 989 illegal buildings have been demolished, 6 thousand 961 buildings have been sealed, and 2 thousand 860 files have been included in the demolition program.
THEY COVERED IT WITH TREE BRANCHES
Apart from the notifications received by the relevant units of the municipality, the Police and Building Control Directorate teams carry out inspections. During the inspections carried out by the police teams the other day, illegal construction on private land on Gündoğan District İnönü Street was detected. Seeing that the illegal construction was covered with tree branches to prevent it from being noticed, the Police teams took the necessary legal action.
Mayor Ahmet Aras made the following statements about the fight against illegal construction: “Our municipal teams continue their work within the scope of the mobilization to combat illegal construction, which they have been carrying out since 2019. In this context, we are working within our authority and means to prevent illegal construction in our district, and we are trying to protect the future of our city.
