The snowfall, which had its effect in the higher parts of Kocaeli, showed its effect in the higher parts. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Department of Technical Affairs Snow Fighting Teams were on duty to keep the roads open at all needed points and to prevent icing on the roads.
Metropolitan Snow Fighting Teams were on duty 24 hours a day to ensure that the snowfall in higher areas did not block the roads and that citizens did not have problems at the transportation point. Snow Fighting Teams, who are on the field with work machines such as blade salting vehicles, graders, channel scraper loaders, cranes and excavators, have a reserve of 30 thousand tons of de-icing salt. While 18 trucks were working to transport salt in the field, the roads were made safe with salting and snow shoveling.
WITH TRACTOR BLADES IN THE VILLAGES
In the villages, snow shoveling work is carried out on the roads with tractor blades distributed by the Metropolitan Municipality. Village roads are kept open at all times with tractor snow blades mounted on 40 tractors under the coordination of village headmen. Snow shoveling and salting work is carried out with 24 work machines and vehicles and 275 personnel in two shifts lasting 650 hours, to prevent any negative situation in transportation.
