TCDD General Directorate of Transportation received a license from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority to carry out LPG transportation by rail. TCDD Transportation will be able to carry out railway LPG transportation activities in our country, a first in this field.

TCDD Transportation General Manager Ufuk Yalçın received the Railway LPG Transportation License from EMRA President Mustafa Yılmaz on 1 November 2023.

TCDD Transportation will be able to provide LPG transportation services to all over the country with 60 wagons with a carrying capacity of 83 thousand 966 tons within the scope of the transportation license.

General Manager Yalçın stated that, with 167 years of experience in railway management, they added the Railway LPG Transport license in addition to the fuel transport license which has been successfully carried out, and said:

“In addition to the fuel transportation license, we have also received our Energy Market Regulatory Authority railway LPG transportation license. We are the first organization to receive a Railway LPG Transport License. Transportation will begin after the necessary conditions for the start of transportation are met. LPG transportation by rail in Turkey, which is one of the largest LPG markets in the world in terms of both autogas consumption and the number of autogas vehicles and stations, will make a great contribution to our country's economy and the LPG sector. As TCDD Transportation, our wagon and freight diversity increases, and freight transportation demands also increase. As an organization, we carry out important transportation activities regarding dangerous goods transportation. Since 2017, we have transported approximately 183 million tons of oil with 104 thousand 10 wagons. "We work for Turkey in the Turkish Century and continue to lead railway logistics with the determination of the first day."
