Kadıköy Municipality organized an Istanbul Seed Exchange Festival in order to protect, support and increase ancestral seed production.

Demet Özdamar, who opened a booth at the 6th Istanbul Seed Exchange Festival for the benefit of earthquake-affected producers, said, “This is the first time I am participating in this festival. It is very pleasant to be here. I opened a booth for the benefit of earthquake victims. Right now I have cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red corn, ornamental sunflower seeds here. These are our products that we have grown from ancestral seeds in our own garden since the past. We will go to Antakya in a week. We will take seedlings with us. We will donate the income we earn here to the families in Antakya.”
