During the operation carried out by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams at the Habur Customs Gate, 66 mobile phones, hidden inside the battery box of a vehicle, were seized.

As part of the risk analysis and targeting studies carried out by the teams, the vehicle under the control of a foreign national who came to the Habur Customs Area from Iraq to enter Turkey was deemed risky and was sent for x-ray scanning.

By analyzing the images during the scan, it was determined that there was a suspicious density in the vehicle. Then the vehicle was taken to the search hangar to be searched in detail by the teams. In the meantime, although the driver claimed that there was no contraband in the vehicle, a detailed search of the hangar revealed that there were many mobile phones hidden inside the battery box.

It was understood that the phones, which were meticulously placed in the battery, were the latest models. As a result of the operation, in which the Customs Enforcement teams disrupted the smugglers' game, a total of 66 mobile phones were seized, and mobile phones with a market value of 555 thousand Turkish Liras were confiscated.
