Statement from IETT 60 New Metrobus Departures in April

The 2022 Activity Report was approved at the IETT General Assembly held at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly. İETT Deputy General Manager İrfan Demet stated that there are 2 thousand 613 buses, 696 metrobuses in the IETT fleet, and a total of 120 thousand 3 vehicles, including 429 electric vehicles in the Islands, and a total of 3 thousand 41 vehicles in the private transportation fleet.

Stating that 800 thousand daily trips are made on 55 different lines with IETT and private transportation vehicles, Demet said that the annual number of trips of IETT increased from 2022 million to 422 million in 628, and the total number of trips reached 1 billion 250 million with private transportation.

METROBUS CARRYING 1 MILLION PASSENGERS DAY

Stating that approximately 1 million passengers are transported on the metrobus in Istanbul per day, Demet stated that 160 new domestically produced metrobuses were put into service in 2022. Stating that after March, 200 metrobus vehicles of domestic production, with a capacity of 20 passengers, joined the fleet, Demet stated that a total of 60 domestically produced metrobuses will start to be delivered from the end of April. Demet said that they will also buy 120 new buses.

262 NEW VEHICLES WILL JOIN THE FLEET

İETT Deputy General Manager İrfan Demet announced that a total of 2023 new vehicles will be included in the fleet in 92, including 120 high-capacity metrobuses, 50 solo buses, and 262 electric vehicles used in the Islands.
