Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ), General Directorate of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, completed the 30-kilometer "Mamak-Elmadağ Drinking Water Main Transmission Line Project" and provided 50 thousand citizens with healthy, clean and uninterrupted drinking water. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its projects, which it started in order to solve the drinking water and infrastructure problems that have been neglected for years in the capital.
Last year, ASKİ General Directorate made the first excavation for the “Mamak-Lalahan-Hasanoğlan-Elmadağ Drinking Water Transmission Line Construction Project”. The project, in which ASKİ teams worked non-stop, 7 days and 24 hours, was completed and water was supplied to the 30-kilometer transmission line, and even trial work began.
SLOW KEPT THE PROMISE “DRINKABLE WATER FROM THE FOUNTAIN”
A huge investment of 128 million completed; It provided quality and uninterrupted drinking water to 50 thousand citizens living in Elmadağ, Hasanoğlan and Lalahan. Thus, the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Mansur Yavaş, realized the promise of "drinkable water from the fountain" that he made before the local elections.
Providing information about the project, General Manager of ASKİ, Erdoğan Öztürk, stated that they give priority to districts that still meet their drinking water needs from wells in the 21st century in their investment program.
WATER WILL BE CARRIED FROM ÇAMLIDERE TO İVEDİK AND FROM İVEDİK TO ELMADAĞ
Öztürk said, “With the Mamak-Elmadağ Drinking Water Main Transmission Line Project, healthy water will be transported to Elmadağ, Hasanoğlan and Lalahan from the İvedik Drinking Water Treatment Plant, where the drinking water of the capital Ankara is purified. Ankara city mains water will be taken from Mamak P26 Pump Station and conveyed to Hasanoğlan DM-1 Station.
Stating that the test works have started within the scope of the project, Öztürk said, “We are taking drinking water from Çamlıdere to İvedik Drinking Water Treatment Plant and from the plant to Elmadağ. Elmadağ region will now be able to drink Ankara city mains water instead of well water.”
