The second ro-ro shipment took place at Ünye Port, which has become one of the most important ports of the Black Sea, after the efforts of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. Fruits and vegetables produced in the Mediterranean Region in exports to Russia were sent to Novorossiysk Port in 32 containers.
The works initiated by the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality at the Ünye Port, which will facilitate export to the Black Sea countries and the Turkish Republics, bore fruit.
Due to the quay length and depth being unsuitable for the entry of high-tonnage ships, the international exports gained momentum at the Ünye Port, which was enlarged after maintenance and reached national and international qualifications by increasing its capacity.
SECOND SHIPMENT FROM ÜNYE PORT TO RUSSIA
President After the studies initiated under the leadership of Mehmet Hilmi Güler to create a port larger than the ports of 6 countries bordering the Black Sea and to become the leader on the entire Black Sea coast, the second ro-ro shipment was made from the port.
ÜNYE PORT WILL BE THE LEADER OF THE BLACK SEA
Stating that Ünye Port gained a great momentum with the realized Ro-Ro exports, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said, “We will now load the trucks on Ro-Ro ships without unloading them and send them to the desired destination. I hope this port will be the leader of both the Black Sea and Turkey.”
NEW WORK STARTED FOR CRUISER SHIPS
Giving a new good news about the port, President Güler said, “Unye Port, which will be an important bridge between Black Sea countries, Turkic Republics, distant seas and Turkey, has started to serve ro-ro ships, and now it is possible to increase the water depth for high-tonnage ships such as cruise ships to benefit. We have started the enhancements. May it be good for our country, our region and our city," he said.
