Names of Teachers and Students Who Died in the Bomb Attack Will Live in Schools

The names of Teacher Arzu Özsoy, who lost her life in the terrorist attack on Beyoğlu Istiklal Street, and her high school student Yağmur Uçar, and primary school student Ecrin Meydan will live on in schools.

Making a statement on the subject, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said: “Three of our citizens who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on Istiklal Street were from our education community. On the day we left carnations at the scene, we said that we would keep the names of our teachers and students alive in our schools forever. We gave the name of our esteemed student Ecrin to the school she attended in Adana. The name of our school was 'Mithatpaşa Ecrin Meydan Primary School'.

We will also keep the names of our teacher Arzu Özsoy, who lost her life, and our high school student, her daughter Yağmur Uçar, alive in Istanbul, in the school and conference hall. We gave the name of Arzu Özsoy, who works as a classroom teacher in one of our schools in Eyüpsultan, to the Eyüpsultan Dökümciler Kindergarten located near her school, and the name of her daughter Yağmur Uçar to the conference hall of Bağcılar Mehmet Niyazi Altuğ Anatolian High School, where she studied.
