Peace Practice for Combating Irregular Migration and Migrant Smuggling

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of Security, the Gendarmerie General Command and the Coast Guard Command units, together with the provincial units of the Directorate of Migration Management, in order to effectively fight against irregular migration and migrant smuggling, derelict places where foreign nationals can stay, areas where they mostly reside, public entertainment venues. Peace-33.401/9.449 application for Combating Irregular Migration was carried out at 7.403 points with 2022 personnel and 11 teams at , truck garages, terminals, ports and fishermen's shelters, public transport stops and stations.

In the Peace-2022/11 Practice for Combating Irregular Migration;

  • 5.670 abandoned buildings,
  • 10.205 public places,
  • A total of 499 locations were checked, 3.345 terminals and 19.719 other locations.
  • A total of 4 organizers, 37 of which were foreign nationals, were detained and 1.353 irregular migrants were caught.
  • A total of 45 wanted persons were identified, including 8 foreign nationals and 784 terrorist organization members/affiliates.
  • Administrative sanctions were imposed on a total of 779 individuals, 94 of whom were foreign nationals and 873 were Turkish citizens.

In practice;

It was determined that 8 trucks-vans and 2 boats were used for irregular migration. In addition, 11 unlicensed hunting rifles, 13 unlicensed pistols, 2 blank pistols, 496 bullets and various drugs were seized.
