Operating with national capital in the defense industry, Antalya-based ARES Shipyard and Ankara-based Meteksan Defense, as a result of the research and development activities that have been going on for several years, in the field of Unmanned Marine Vehicles (İDA); implemented the first unmanned combat marine vehicle solution of our country. The Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SİDA), whose prototype production will be completed in December, will be the first platform of the "ULAQ" series.

SİDA, which has 400 kilometers cruising range, 65 kilometers per hour speed, day / night vision capability, national encrypted communication infrastructure and produced from advanced composite material; It can be used from land mobile vehicles and headquarters command center or floating platforms such as aircraft carriers and frigates in the performance of missions such as Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Intelligence, Surface Warfare (SUH), Asymmetric Warfare, Armed Escort and Force Protection, Strategic Facility Security.

The prototype boat, whose design work ended in August and structural production was completed, is planned to be launched in December 2020, following the outfitting activities. Firing tests of the first SIDA will be carried out in the first quarter of 4 with 2 Javelin and 2021 L-UMTAS missile systems provided by the national missile systems manufacturer Roketsan.

SİDA; It can be equipped with different types of payloads such as electronic warfare, jamming, and different communication and intelligence systems, as well as missile systems to meet different operational operational needs. In addition, it will be able to operate with other SİDAs with a similar or different structure, and have joint operation capabilities with UAVs, SİHAs, TİHAs and manned aircraft. On the other hand, SİDA will not only be a remotely controlled unmanned sea vehicle, but also will be equipped with superior and ahead of the curve capabilities with artificial intelligence and autonomous behavior features.

It was stated that the first phase of the project initiated by ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense in the field of unmanned marine vehicles and the prototype SİDA in the production line, unmanned marine vehicles for intelligence gathering, mine hunting, submarine defense warfare, fire fighting and humanitarian aid / evacuation will be ready for production.

In the joint press release made on October 28, 2020, ARES Shipyard General Manager Utku Alanç said: “As a result of the labor-intensive studies and investments we made to realize this dream we had a few years ago, in the field of Unmanned Marine Vehicles (İDA); Our pride and happiness in implementing the first unmanned national combat watercraft solution is indescribable. We have achieved this success and pride, as always, with our equity investments, by prioritizing our national interests. We present the Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (SİDA) Project, the production of which will be completed in December, as the first platform of the "ULAQ" series to the knowledge of the great Turkish nation. In our ancient Turkish culture, ULAQ is the name given to the state ambassadors who represent the state in every field since Central Asia and amaze them with all their features. As Meteksan Defense many years of communication and sensor systems are the technological know-how we have gained in the field to assess for unmanned marine vehicles, to you today with ARES Shipyard Turkey First Combatant We are very proud to offer the Unmanned Vessel. I would like to state that we observe the maximum domestic contribution rate while designing critical electronic systems to be located on this platform and that we fully consider the operational needs of our Turkish Armed Forces.
