Üsküdar “Salacak Urban Design Competition”, organized in cooperation with the IMM Department of Survey Projects and Istanbul Planning Agency, has been concluded. In the competition where 60 projects took place, 3 design equivalent awards were won and 5 designs were given honorable mentions. Istanbulites will determine the project to be implemented in Salacak among the equivalent projects.
The Salacak Urban Design Competition, one of the urban design competitions that will shape the future of Istanbul, has been concluded. Salacak, an important transportation, service and recreation center of the Anatolian side and a special part of the urban landscape of Istanbul, has been handled with the focus in its immediate surroundings.
Üsküdar and Kadıköy Within the scope of the project in the affected area of Squares, besides Salacak shore; It is aimed to make an urban design that includes Marmaray, Haydarpaşa Train Station, Harem Bus Station, car ferry pier, city line piers, highway axle and Eurasia Tunnel.
With the competition organized in cooperation with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Department of Survey Projects and the Istanbul Planning Agency, it was aimed to solve the problems of the area such as transportation, architecture and landscape, to evaluate their potential and to add value to the city with Üsküdar.
Salacak Urban Design Competition jury gathered at Yenikapı Eurasia Show and Art Center on Friday, September 11, 2020, and determined the designs with 60 degrees. Projects numbered 4, 42 and 53 were awarded equivalent, while projects numbered 5,7, 24, 45 and 47 received honorable mentions.
