Snow Kingdom of the Alps

Stubaital is one of the most beautiful valleys of the Austrian Alps. near Innsbruck. The 40-kilometer valley has the country's largest glacial ski resort. Our reader Zeynep Korçan went to the Stubai Ski Center known as the “Snow Kingdom” and wrote down her impressions.

When I say winter, I think of skiing. I love skiing, I look forward to winter. I'm a researcher traveler. If you ask me, the most beautiful ski resorts are in Apler. That is why 20-25 years, we always go to the Tyrol, Austria Alps.

This time we set out with 6 people. We couldn't find a direct flight from Istanbul to Innsbruck. We flew to Munich. It took about 2 hours to reach Neustift village where we will be staying. On the way with our driver in English, German sohbet We watched wonderful views. The same vehicle would take us to the airport on the way back.

Neustift is located south of Innsbruck, 25 kilometers by road. Our hotel Fernau (www.hotel-fernau.at) was a four-star hotel with typical Tyrolean architecture. Food and service were excellent. There was even a champagne breakfast once a week in its gourmet kitchen. Prices were also reasonable.

12 SKY SKI

When we settled in our rooms, it was in the afternoon. We went out and we toured the village. The landscape, the architecture of the houses was very nice. We stopped by a cafe-bar which reflects typical Tyrolean characters. We drank our first schnaps.
The next day we went to Ski Stubai Glacier Ski Resort. We had a bus service to the ski resort 17 miles away. The stop was right in front of the hotel. We could ride straight from the ski room without moving skis. We've been watching the wonderful landscapes along the way.

The Stubai Glacier, also known as the ”Snow Kingdom“ is at an altitude of 3150 meters. Austria's largest glacier skiing region. Their profits never run out. Even skiing is possible in August. The length of the marked tracks is 110 mileage. There is room for all kinds of skiers on different difficulty tracks. Snowboarding can also be done. October Fest time is on the mountain with traditional Tyrolean clothes, beer feast is done.

SINGLE SKIPASS FREE BUS

The same skipass is available in the four ski resorts in the Stubaital Valley. Buses are free. If you are not skiing, you can use the hotel bus free of charge. There are many things to see and do in the region for those who do not ski. The walk in the snowy nature is spectacular. The villages are very nice and charming. There are shops that sell typical Tyrolean products. I recommend you to see the center of Innsbruck, which is a few minutes away by bus from 20.

Interconnecting 4 ski resort

There is also an 3 ski resort in the Stubaital Valley. Af Schlick 2000 / Fulpmes, 8 to Neustift, 10 to Innsbruck. There is a regular bus service. 1000 2240 meters the total length of marked tracks at altitude 28 mileage. Neustift's slopes are at an altitude of 2040 meters. The sled and paragliding are also very popular. If you can't find time for skating, you can skate on illuminated tracks at night. The third ski resort in the region is Mieders. Suitable for sledding and skiing.

20 minutes by bus to Innsbruck

Innsbruck is a city surrounded by the Alps. Mountain views are breathtaking. After visiting the city, stop by the Altstadt, the historical district, for a good coffee in typical Austrian cafes. Taste the apple strudel on the side. The Hofburg Palace is also worth a visit. If you enter the famous Cafe Sacher at its entrance, I suggest you try the Sacher Torte. Near the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) in the historic center is one of the world's largest Swarovski stores. The Swarovski World, which appeals to crystal enthusiasts, is near the city. There is a bus service every two hours (www.kristallwelten.swarovski.com) In the meantime, do not forget to see the famous Bergisel jumping tower.
