KAAN, one of Turkey's most important technology projects carried out by Turkish Aerospace Industries under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, made its first flight recently. Tires designed by Petlas, which has the only accredited aircraft tire test center in Turkey, successfully completed take-off and landing tests on the KAAN platform.
Petlas tires, which were used in the Hürkuş, Hürjet, Anka, Anka S, Aksungur, Bayraktar TB2 and TB3, Akıncı and unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar Kızılelma projects, were also preferred in KAAN, the newest national combat aircraft developed with national technology.
KAAN, which uses tires from Petlas, which was awarded the National Accreditation Certificate by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) with its Tire Testing Laboratory, which has the ability to test aircraft tires in many international test methods, received full marks with its first flight.
